1.3 Location Information
Our mobile application collects precise and approximate location information (GPS coordinates, accuracy radius, and timestamp) from the mobile devices of users who are assigned the technician role. This collection is a core function of the Services and is used by the technician’s employer to dispatch and coordinate field work.
- What we collect: device latitude and longitude, the accuracy of that reading, and the time it was recorded.
- When we collect it: after the technician signs in to the mobile application and grants location permission. Location is sampled periodically (approximately every five minutes) and is only transmitted when the device has moved a meaningful distance since the previous reading.
- Background collection: on Android and iOS, location may be collected while the application is in the background or closed, so that dispatching remains accurate throughout the technician’s working day. The application requests your permission and displays an in-app disclosure before any background location collection begins.
- Why we collect it: to assign technicians to nearby jobs, to provide customers with accurate arrival estimates, to verify arrival at a job site, and to support routing and dispatch.
- Who it is shared with: location data is made available to the dispatchers and administrators of the business that employs the technician. It is not sold, and it is not shared with advertisers or used for advertising or marketing purposes.
- Your choices: granting location permission is optional and can be declined or revoked at any time in your device’s operating system settings; location collection also stops when you sign out of the mobile application. Declining location permission may limit dispatching and arrival-time features.
- Retention: location records are retained for as long as they are needed for dispatch history, payroll, and job verification purposes, and are then deleted in accordance with Section 5 below. You may request deletion of your location data as described in Section 6.
We do not collect location information from the web-based platform.
